Cisco Scope
The Cisco Academy splits into eight semesters. Semesters 1 to 4 cover the CCNA material, and Semester 5 to 8 cover CCNP material. An outline of the scope of the first four Semesters are:

IT Demand
The demand for IT professionals with a broad range of skills is increasing. In the USA the demand for IT professionals over the next five years will be:

1 Support professionals (218,238).
2 Network designer/ administrator (186,613).
3 Programming/ software engineer (134,637).

Thus the demand for Networking designers/ administrators has now overtaken the demand for Software Engineers.

History of Cisco Systems

Did you know that Len Bosack and Sandy Lerner at Stanford University started cisco. Len designed the original logo, which is based on the Golden Gate bridge.

Also that 75 venture capital companies rejected cisco, before Don Valentine finally put $2.5million in the business. The money was never used, as sales rocketed.

Initially Cisco Systems were named cisco systems, as in San Francisco.
