NetworkSims ProfSIMS Demo Page
Current demos include:
CCNA Challenge 1 [Click
here - D1]. In this demo the basic details
of the E0 port are defined, such as for its IP address,
subnet mask, status, description, and so on. Each
time the challenge is run it gives a new set of challenge
parameters.
CCNP ONT Challenge [Click
here - D19]. UNIQUE FEATURE! The new
CCNP certification related to ONT (Optimizing Converged
Networks - 642-845) has just been released. Networksims
contains a full coverage of the practical studies
for this new certification. This demo covers the configuration
of WRED. The full version covers lots of interesting
areas, such as queuing, QoS, and so on.
CCNP ISCW Challenge [Click
here - D18]. UNIQUE FEATURE! The new
CCNP certification related to ISCW (Implementing Secure
Converged Wide-Area Networks - 642-825) has just been
released. Networksims contains a full coverage of
the practical studies for this new certification.
This demo covers the configuration of cryptolists.
The full version covers lots of interesting areas,
such as crypto functions, IPS, and so on.
Exercises
- D2]. In this demo there are three routers,
in a ring topology. It involves defining the key details
on each of the devices, such as their IP address and
routing protocol, such that, at the end, the devices
should be able to communicate with each other. A key
factor is that they should be able to ping each other
once the details have been set. Each time the challenge
is run it gives a new set of challenge parameters,
each of which should work.
Topology [Click
here - D3]. This demo relates to the
topology option in which there are four routers, in
a ring topology with a backup route. The topology
allows the user to practice their configurations.
There are no details defined devices, and the user
can enter whichever details are required.
Set Complete [Click
here - D4]. This demo relates to the
Set Complete option, using Topology 4, in which
there are three routers in a star formation, and three
hosts. It creates a completed setup, so that the user
can debug using ping and tracert to determine if the
system is working correctly.
CCNP (Adv Routing/BSCI) [Click
here - D5]. This demo relates to the
first challenge of the CCNP BSCI certification in
which a DHCP pool is setup on the device. Each time
the challenge is run it gives a new set of challenge
parameters.
Fault-finding [Click
here - D6]. UNIQUE FEATURE! This demo
relates to the fault-finding challenges, where a random
fault is placed on a defined topology, and the user
must find it. If required the solution can be shown
at any time. Each time the challenge is run it gives
a new set of challenge parameters. Other faults are
at:
-
-
-
[ Click
here - D14] - The following shows the user finding-out
that E0 is shutdown, and then enables it.
Cisco
Wireless Aironet 1200 [Click
here - W1]. UNIQUE FEATURE! This demo
relates to the configuration of an Aironet 1200 Wireless
Access Point, using the last two major versions of
the Aironet IOS. Each time the challenge is run it
gives a new set of challenge parameters. Other demos
are at:
Cisco PIX/ASA Simulator [Click
here - P1]. UNIQUE FEATURE! This demo
relates to the configuration of a PIX/ASA device,
for most of its significant features. It covers all
of the CCSP requirements, along with covering PIX
V6.x and V7.x. Each time the challenge is run it gives
a new set of challenge parameters. Other demos are
at:
Switch
challenge [Click
here - D9]. In this demo involves setting
up basic details on the Ethernet ports on the switch,
and also defining CDP. Each time the challenge is
run it gives a new set of challenge parameters. The
switch supports both Layer 2 and Layer 3 activities.
Security challenge [Click
here
- D11]. The simulators follow the CCSP
certification, along with challenges that are useful
in day-to-day activities. These challenges relate
to security for routers, firewalls, and switches.
Host challenge [Click
here - D10]. This demo shows the configuration
of a Windows host for it's network details, and for
the testing of the details with IPCONFIG and IPCONFIG/ALL.
Each time the challenge is run it gives a new set
of challenge parameters.
Cisco
CCVP Simulator [Click
here - R12]. In this demo a POTs and
a VoIP dial-peer are setup, and includes a destination-pattern
to match and a preference. Other demos include:
-
[Click
here - R21]. In this demo the SIP User
Agent (SIP-AU) is setup, and a dial-peer is created
for the SIP server.
-
[Click
here - R22]. In this demo the H323-gateway
is defined on E0. It includes the configuration
of the interface parameters, and also the associated
dial-peer.
Using HELP [Click
here - D15]. This demo shows the help available
through the e-Book with the simulators.
Activities [Click
here - D16]. Often studying through certification
material can be a little boring after a while, so Networksims
has a whole lot of activities which can lighten the
burden of study. This one involves using an IP Calculator
to determine the number of subnets and available hosts
for given IP classifications and subnet masks. The following
shows the placement of host and network IP addresses
around a defined network:
CCSP CSVPN Web Simulator. This simulator
covers most of the features of the VPN Web Interface.
