Next Generation Visual Interface for Networking Simulations

Outline :

This project will investigate the integration of next Web-based generation visualisation infrastructures, such as using .NET 3.0 WPF and XAML, to produce interactive training material for networking/security. This includes simulator interfaces, engaging exercises, and so on.

Deliverables :

•  Investigation of next generation visualisation systems.

•  Investigation and evaluation of existing on-line learning environments for networking/security learning.

•  Investigation of educational infrastructures, and educational models for learning.

•  Definition and design of networking/security-related challenges.

•  Implementation of prototype for several interesting proof-of-concept elements.

•  Evaluation of the usefulness of the methods, as apposed to traditional learning environments (such as Cisco Networking Academy , Web-CT, and so on).

Required Resources :

A standard PC with a Web-server running .NET 3.0 (remote or local).

Skillsets :

ASP.NET (training will be given on this)., Web integration, Networking and/or security knowledge.
